I recently started a Beth Moore Bible study with several missionary Ladies; These are thoughts i have pondered this past week. I have been blessed by many of her studies. If you get the chance ,you will be blessed too.
1, If I belive that God's treasures me, do I act like it?
2.If I want to be satisfied, I must seek to have an ear tuned to Him.
3.The more I partake of God's word, eating the meat and drinking the milk, I will yearn for more. Only God can satisfy the hunger of my soul.
4. To fully realize God's peace , I must activate it in my life, in every way.
5. FACT: God's presence is always with me. Believing and walking in that truth can help me enjoy His peace.
6. God has the power over the storm but if he choose not to calm it, He is willing to calm my heart to endure it.
Peace is like a river, sometime the water is fast and swift, other times gentle. NO matter what we face His presence is always with us. I want the appetizer, the main course, and the desert of His Word. Don't you??!!
Praying that His peace and presence is near and dear to you today.
Love Katherine
And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. Hebrews 11:6

Points to Ponder: His peace and Presence
Bear's Story: Community service for the Lord
Usually our dogs are inside our compound for guarding purposes, but for some reason, one day last week our gate was open just enough for Bear (our pet k9 ) to get outside. We were away from home so Bear was caught by the local dog catcher. When the Dog catcher was leaving with a truck load of stray dogs and Bear, he left us a ticket for the violation.
Sometime later, I returned home to find that we were in violation of the Antipolo city no leash rule and that Bear was caught and sent to the dog pound. He faced possible extermination within three days if we did not claim him. As I read the ticket it quickly alerted me to the urgency of Bear's situation. He was in big trouble and I needed to get him out.
I left the house a little bit frustrated, because I saw a few stray mutts laying around on the nearby street, "They Didn't Get Them All!" I said to myself, and it angered me a little more. As I drove to the city, I was thinking, "What neighbor called the dog catcher? Was there some kind of conspiracy against me?" I asked the Lord to help me with my attitude. Well I arrived at city hall and found the city Dog Catcher's office and they asked if they could help me. Oh ....I was still kinda bent but... Smiling I sat down and read the ticket 500 Pesos about (10 Bucks) or eight hours community service. I sat there for a moment thinking, "I do not want to give these guys any money" so I opted for the eight hours community service. The lady already standing there prepared to take my money was suprised and taken back. YOU are going to do community service? Yes, I said, when do I report in? Eight a.m. tommorrow morning she said. Great! Looking foward to it. See you tommorow.
I got up on thursday , and I took a public Jeep because Walang Parking doon (No parking). When I reported in, they sent me to the City Wet Market (palanke). Friends, if you could only see this place and or smell it... you would really be amazed. Fish guts, Pig guts, everything was hanging on meat hooks like pig heads and feet. It is a great place to get some good veggies, but today I was going there to do work. And Boy did it smell bad! After the first walk through and in the middle of several thousand people trying to sell me somthing, I couldn't imagining what I would be doing there as a community service worker for eight hours? I was getting nervous as I approached the stairs going up.
I reported to Mr. Jp the market supervisor and he ask me the standard questions, Why are you here sir? I said, I'm here to do community service for eight hours and was assigned to the Market HQ. Oh boy!... did they get a laugh about this one. I was still wondering ... what are they going to assign me to do? Mr. JP had me sit in his office and he said, Mr. Grant, if you want your dog released from jail you must do community service until 4pm to get your certifcate of release. Then he ordered me to do NO WORK but instead report back to him at 4pm, after eight hours ... What?... just go and come back at 4pm... are you sure...? No scrubbing the market floor, no cleaning of the clogged market sewer, no slopping of fish guts off the floor WOW! I was really relieved...so I sat in the office of the market secretary for the next few hours and was able to witness the love and grace of our Lord Jesus. I was able to hear some peoples life stories and pray for them. I met the office secretary Emi and prayed for her as well. Overall I was able to use my eight hours community service time for the spread of the Gospel. At 4 pm. I was issued a certificate of release and headed out to get Bear.
Bear is home now, after the jail time of 30 hrs he is doing well. On the ticket they issued it read for the second violation: 1000 pesos or two days community service. We will see what the future holds. God is in control. Please pray for Emi and her friends at the market they still need Jesus. Maybe doors will open for an opportunity to serve them some other way. What a wonderful grace granted me... michael
