Thought for the day : To be in a Furnace!

Today has been a very very hot day!! It is summer in the philippines. The air conditioning on the car is getting fixed again. A friend stopped by and said," Your house is like an oven," Yes, it did seem that way today. She and I were both sweating within minutes. It feels like it is over 100 degree.  No yard , concrete walls and poor circulation but yet we really love our house. For a few moments, I feel like complaining about being tired and hot, wanting to run away to airconditioning. Then my mind  started thinking about the spiritual heat we  as christians expedrience in our lives, and remembered the words from a favorite song from my youth. ( by steve camp)
One line read, "Oh to be in the furnace once again where the heat is so hard and it is so hard to stand, I am searching for some water, and looking for a friend."
Why would any one want to be in the furnace ?( Difficult times and situations) because it is during those times that the Lord is so near, molding and shaping our lives in ways that  sometimes take trials and pain to change us, mold us, make us into what He wants us to be.  Many time we want to run to the air conditioning( the good things , the easy things in life) and then we take for granted God's mercy, love and grace that He pours out in our lives daily.Life is what we allow God to make it. Hurt and pain are real but all the things that we go through are His way of being " The POTTER"  in our life,"THE LIVING WATER" and " OUR TUREST FRIEND.". Allowing us to go through the fire, is how He burns those impurities away and molds us into  a vessel He can use.

OH, LORD< I WANT TO BE USED BY YOU> I  am willing to allow you to use the furnaces in my life to make me more like you.
Hang in there my friends, He isn't finished with us yet.   (katherine)

Opportunity, if we wait on the Lord.

God is Marvelous! We have been praying for four months to have opportunity to reach and preach in Manila this Summer, with our volunteer Mobile Gospel Team. This week we met a Pastor who was open hearted to working with our trainees and offered his church to be a central part of what unfold next week. We will share in a community where 20,000 people live in a small area and JP and Carl will be preaching. Please pray that God would be Glorified in our given opportunities. Grace to You, michael

Relief Funds at Work

Our familiy continues to help with different projects to improve the lives of the victims affected by the flood.  Here we are helping build a roof for a family that had old tarps with holes for their cover. Their roof could not  provide much cover during the hard rains of  typhoons. In preparation for the rainy season, we are helping this family build a roof and a second level loft so the kids can sleep a little bit cooler off the ground. Thank you for all who have given to the Grant Relief Projects, You made this possible through your giving!!!!

Sharing and Caring

Last night was a wonderful time for the voulnteer evanglism team. My darling spiritual daughters were up from Batangas and went along to help with the outreach. There was preaching, skits, testimony and song. Even Caleb help in one of the skits, as the Gospel was preached in Fernado's neighborhood. Carl gave his first sermon  and did an awesome job along with Jp who gave his testimony. Several pre-teens responded to the Gospel. Pray that many more may respond to our Savior, as this team conitnues to share this summer.

After the outreach, it was back to the house for supper and brownies. We have enjoyed having the girls with us for a few days and will miss them as they travel home this morning.
