Creekside Kids

It has been such a blessing  to see Carl and JP willingness to share their gifts for the Lord. Last night at the Creekside Bible study, I was amazed to see JP's special gift of Children's ministry become evident. While Carl and I were working with the adults, JP taught a group of about 30 kids. He had them captivated for over an hour with songs, games and stories from God's word.

Hunger On the Street

The streets of Manila are full of families that have no home.  Monday night we cooked for two hours and prepared food we gave away to hungry families. We were able to find some children that were out at 9pm selling  flowers and cigarettes. Our hope is to be able to share God's word with them. Carl and JP shown here are dishing it out.

Amazing Race, Pizza and Fun

The Freshmen party was a hit with 45 of the 64 students attending. They had a great time with fun, games, food, music, and an Amazing race which included Fear factor of unknown foods. Ok, Lets think MK kids creating these unknown food and your wildest imagination might be close. One of the songs that the President of the class is trying to challenge the class with is "We are the Body", by Clay Cross. The words are straight to the Heart. If we claim to love the Lord are we  living it out in our lives daily? Are we all being the body of Christ in our circle of influence? Are we reaching out  to those who are different than we are? Are people feeling Christ's love? My challenge to myself and others for this year!

New Mambugan Feeding

Our  Saturday morning feeding at the Bible school in  Mambugan went well. What a Joy to see the smiles on the kid's faces.  Bible teaching and food are always a good mix. The ladies are doing a super job teaching 50 children every Saturday.  We thank the Lord for allowing us to be a small part of the vision for this community. Next Saturday, we will do it again!

62 Freshmen and a "Day of Fun"

As one of the Freshmen advisors at Faith Academy ( international school for MK's), I enjoyed taking the class officers out last night to buy their supplies for  the freshmen class party tomorrow. God loves these mk kids and is working in their hearts. Last week, the class voted to give 10% of their fundraisers to an orphange and this week someone blessed them by providing the money for the pizza for their party. Blessed is those who give, and then recieve special blessings in return. Pray that tomorrow will be lots of fun for the class and bring unity and purpose.  Katherine

Your Great!

"I will make you a great nation; and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples of the earth will be blessed through you" (Gen. 12: 2-3)

A cup of Coffee, Fellowship and Food from God's Word

Yesterday, was a wonderful day of fellowship and fun as well as great food for the soul from God's word. Part of the ladies from my Korean ladies Bible study decided that for a change we would meet in a different location. As some of you know, travel in the Philippines takes forever to get from point A to point B. Grocery shopping is usually a entire day affair. I have a membership to SNR which is a grocery chain that is slightly like a Sam's club in the USA. My ladies have been wanting to go but their only free day is Bible study day. So we moved from my house to a coffee shop near the grocery and had Bible study there. We are studying the "Power of a Praying Wife". Something we all want to apply more and more in our lives as missionary and Pastor wives. It does not matter what culture you are from, Women,  we all struggle and need to encourage each other to be the type of wives that are honoring to God in our ACTIONS< WORDS< ATTITUDES> . We had a wonderful time, then went grocery shopping and out to eat at a delightful Korean restaurant. The day started at 9am and lasted til 4:30pm. A long day but one that I will truly cherish.I am so blessed to serve these wonderful ladies. Many are traveling and could not be with us, but where TWO or Three are Gathered, there the Lord is in the midst of them.
Blessing, Katherine

Miracles with Boxes

The girls in Batangas were excited to be part of a Christmas Retreat with Katherine in DEC. She had been so busy with flood relief efforts that she had not had a chance to visit much since the typhoon has hit. What was so amazing for them and for so many other people that we were reaching out to was the miracle of the boxes. Months ago some very special people, including two awesome Aunts, had prepared several boxes to send to us here in the Philippines. We had been getting frustrated because the boxes were months over due and when we had tried to track them had recieved a run a round from the shipping company. It was so hard to understand why it was taking 5 months for these boxes to arrive when normally it is about 6 weeks. Well, Our Lord is an on time God. Never a moment too early and never a moment too late. The boxes each arrived at the perfect time. We recieved medicine, food, and gifts, at the exact time that we needed them to be able to minister to those affected by the flood and also those we minister to for Christmas. How amazing that the Lord knew what we needed when we needed it. One missionary family was brought to tears as we gave them food from Home. They had lost so much in the flood. We can not say thanks enough for all of you who have blessed us to bless them with the wonderful boxes and gifts from home.

Studying God's Word together.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of meeting with my monthly ladies Bible study Group. The "Free Baptist" as we call ourselves. Two of us are Southern Baptist, and two Free Methodist. WE enjoy studying together and encouraging each other in the Lord. WE have been  studying " My Heart's Cry" by Anne Graham Lotz. Questions we asked ourselves yesterday were: Even if Jesus does not work the way that we think we want Him too, are we committed to praise Him? How many times has God taken the ashes of our dreams and turned them into pure joy? More times that we realize!!!Praise is the Switch that turns on the light of joy in our lives enen when it's dark outside. (such encouraging words from Anne. ) Genuine priase is the gut-wrenching affirmations of faith in desperation as we cling to him alone. Daily, I am learning to apply this principle in my life as I strive to let His JOY shine in me and focus on dying to self and living for Christ.  Oh how I want to Praise your more, Lord.  Blessing : Katherine

Friends that Worship together, Enjoy the Presence of the LORD

Today we were able to fellwoship with  two  young ladies MiMi and Febbie.  They are part of the college bible study that Michael  and JP are leading. These young ladies are passionate about their Faith. They are active in their church. MiMi teaches SS and Febbie is a worship leader. Oh! and can Febbie play the keyboard! Please pray for them as they serve the Lord. They are ministering to several Muslim youth that attend their church. Pray that those seeking truth will be embraced by the love of the a Savior who gave his life to forgive their sins and set them free.
